ACTIVITIES

More relaxation or more adventure. More water or more forest.

At the “Amazonas Life Camp” amazement happens. The magnificent skies, day and night; the strength of a tropical storm felt from the shelter; the freedom of paddling a canoe along the Amazonian rivers; learning to live off the fruits of the earth and feeling revitalised.

‘Being’ is already an adventure, but we also offer you dozens of activities and unforgettable experiences.

All activities are included in the price

Some examples of what you can enjoy in the Life Camp

Jungle trails

We will go ‘in the jungle’ on known or improvised trails. Always accompanied by expert guides who will show us the secrets of this exuberant world.

The Piranha Reserve

This is another true natural paradise. It has the largest colony of black caimans in central Amazonia and is a paradise for birds, among which the exotic hoatzin is one of the most outstanding.

The mythical river dolphins

We will meet the famous dolphins of the Amazon: the boto, the mythical pink dolphin that can swim backwards, and the smaller one – tucuxí – that usually accompanies the passage of the canoes.

Parrot Island

In the golden light of the sunset, thousands of parrots cross the sky and land on this magical small island for the night. You will never have seen anything like it.

The secret life of plants

Large trees, multiple species of lianas, palm trees such as the açaí or the tree of life, medicinal plants… Hundreds of botanical species have been classified in our reserve. Each one holds a secret.

The Amazonian night

We will explore the banks of the rivers in canoes, under the moonlight. An exercise in surprising naturalism amidst the nocturnal ‘soundtrack’ of the jungle.

Find them

In the hidden corners of the streams we will look for arapaima, caimans, giant otters and manatees. In the treetops we’ll be surprised by monkeys, sloths, chameleons… and other inhabitants.

Bow and spear fishing

The local fishing arts, inherited from the indigenous peoples, give us moments of great admiration such as bow and arrow and spear fishing.

And much more:

Find mimetic insects, take a medicinal clay bath, make your tropical smoothie, plant your ‘brother tree’, fish for piranhas, enjoy indigenous myths around a fire….

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a safe place?

In the 16 years that we have been here, the most that has happened is that someone has picked up a thorn and an allergy problem that could have been solved with our first aid kit. There are many ‘Amazonias’ and a very unknown one is this one: the one that stands out for its calm, peace and serenity.

We have a first aid kit for minor situations and we are only 30 minutes away from the health centres of Manacapuru.

If there are people in the group who require special care, we have the possibility to hire a nurse for the duration of the stay at Life Camp.

Yes, absolutely. And if there are any special needs, just let us know.
From 6 years old onwards, it is recommended for anyone who feels able to walk and canoe for about 2 hours. We have the spirit of the caravan and we go at the speed of the last one. There is a lot to see and feel.

Any time of the year is a great time to travel to the Amazon.

The high water season is of superlative beauty, a magical world that repeats itself in perfect reflections. From April to July.

And the low water season, the Amazonian summer, time for wild beaches, water birds, walks on deserted islands. September to November.

It is not a health problem area and has no records of contagious tropical diseases, nor cases of malaria. Although there are no compulsory vaccinations in Brazil, it is advisable to follow the prophylaxis indications of International Health.

Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.

Manaus is an international airport, it receives flights from Miami, Bogota, and from Europe via Sao Paulo or Brasilia.
